We recommend that you avoid saunas and swimming for at least the first month. Swimming pools, spas and the like are the worst bacteria nests you can expose your newly pierced piercing to. However, if you decide to swim or sauna with your navel within the first month, rinse the navel with plenty of water or saline afterwards. If your navel begins to show symptoms, contact your piercer first.
